The father of four young children says he was completely devastated for months, until one day, he made an unusual encounter. The Hindu priest who performed the ceremony says that Mr. Basu is extremely lucky to have found his dead wife again in her new form. While Hindus believe that it is possible for a human being to be reincarnated in animal form, weddings between humans and animals are extremely rare. This unusual ceremony ended up being very controversial and caused a lot of reactions in India. Many Hindu commentators defended Mr. Basu’s religious rights and saluted his “good karma”, while others criticized the ceremony, saying it gave India a negative image as a “backward country fil...

Facebook Twitter Google WhatsAp Cop Sh The former prime minister said that while he did not disagree with the objectives of the move, it was a monumental management failure. Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday, said the government’s move to demonetise Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes was a form of “organised loot” and that it would reduce the country’s Gross Domestic Product by 2% or more. Singh, who has also served as the finance minister and is a noted economist, said ordinary people were suffering because of the imposition of the move overnight by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “The prime minister has been arguing that this is the way to curb black money, to prevent the growth of fake currency notes and help control terrorism. A Family Murder in the Colombian Jungle;

A Family Murder in the Colombian Jungle; How the surrender of the FARC helped bring closure to a mystery Santa Marta | Stefanen Ator/Public Domain/Flickr Here is what I know for sure: Nearly 10 years ago, my aunt Adita was kidnapped from her home one morning in Santa Marta, a beach town on Colombia ’s Caribbean coast. Hours after her disappearance, she was found dead on the side of a dusty road in the nearby Sierra Nevada mountains. The violent murder of Adita Perez is one shrouded in mystery. Her kidnappers were mysteriously killed before questioning and no one was ever charged with her death. Some say she was killed on the side of the road and then set aflame (a gruesome version of the story I had grown up with). Others say Adita was killed in her home, rolled up in a carpet and dumped in the mountains. The theories surrounding  why  she was murdered are even more nuanced. I hadn’t been to  Bogota  — my birthplace — in over a decade but after ...

Every time there is a new rule, whether it is the RERA [Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act] or the bankruptcy code, there is a lot of apprehension about the way in which ...
