Speaking with reference to the title, Rana said, "Since the time I was a kid, I have been waging a war; a war to pass the exams, a war to convince my parents, etc. And Chaithu (Naga Chaitanya) was an absolute torture because he was the quintessential good boy who did well at studies and my parents used to ask me to emulate him," said Rana humorously and added, "Chaitanya has known the director of Krishna R Muthhu for a long time and I think it's because of the friendship between them that the movie has shaped so well. I love my films but I love Chaithu's films even more. I hope that Yuddham Sharanam turns out to be the biggest hit of the year."

Hours after her disappearance, she was found dead on the side of a dusty road in the nearby Sierra Nevada mountains. The violent murder of Adita Perez is one shrouded in mystery. Her kidnappers were mysteriously killed before questioning and no one was ever charged with her death. Some say she was killed on the side of the road and then set aflame (a gruesome version of the story I had grown up with). Others say Adita was killed in her home, rolled up in a carpet and dumped in the mountains. The theories surrounding  why  she was murdered are even more nuanced. I hadn’t been to  Bogota  — my birthplace — in over a decade but after years of wondering
